Life’s a party and Roo knew just how to make it just that with fun, laughter, and her free spirit. Roo passed away peacefully in her home on August 31, 2024, in Gladewater, TX, after losing her second battle with stomach cancer.
Ruchia “Roo” Lee Eargle Moran was born in Thomaston, GA, and adopted by her parents Roy and Dotty Eargle of Saluda, NC, who gave Roo a world of opportunities to explore countries, operas, wines, and experiences. These adventures led to her living in Berlin and Heidelberg, Germany, where she attended Heidelberg High School in 1973, gaining lifelong friends and meeting her husband, Tim Moran, the love of her life.
Tim and Roo married in a small ceremony in Berry Chapel, OBU on December 20, 1975, in Arkadelphia, AR, beginning the start of their 49-year marriage. Tim and Roo had two children Elliot and Kaethe Moran.
Roo will always be remembered for her love of Germany, dragonflies, and a good joke. We couldn’t have asked for a better wife, sister, mother, and friend, and will miss Roo every day.
Her memory will live on through generations in the hearts of all those who loved her.
Ruchia was preceded in death by her father Roy Eargle, sister Susie Virgo, and brothers Kenneth Wayne and Larry Bass. She is survived by her spouse Tim Moran, mother Dotty Eargle of Tryon, sister Dale Bass, brother Grier Eargle and wife Faith Ann of Tryon, children Elliot Moran and wife Amanda and their children Micah, Piper, and Ruby Moran of Gilmer, TX, and Kaethe Moran of Longview, TX, and nieces and nephews and countless friends that cross the nation.
