COLUMBUS—The Town of Columbus has recently announced its inaugural Fall Festival, which will be held on Saturday, September 28th, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Veterans Park and Gibson St.

Kevin and Jenna English, owners of Bear’s Den Trading Post, and Discover Columbus are presenting the celebration. It will coincide with the Columbus Farmers Market and feature food trucks, bouncy houses, face painting, wood carvers, and various local and regional craft vendors. The Fall Festival is currently taking vendor applications.

“The goal of the Fall Festival is to support all of our local businesses and bring in tourism,” says Kevin English. “We have a lot to offer here in Columbus, and we want to use the event as a way to highlight the local shops and restaurants.”

Vendor spaces will be fifteen by fifteen feet, and application fees are $25 for vendors and $50 for food trucks. Food trucks must have a Temporary Food Establishment from the Polk County Building Inspection Office. Set up time for vendors is 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. the day of the event. The application deadline for standalone food trucks is September 13, with all other vendors having a September 22 application deadline. The rain date for the event will be October 5.

“We’re trying to bring the community out to visit Columbus,” says Jenna English. ”And give everyone something fun to do. We hope to make this and the Spring Festival regular events.”
