Ellen Rogers, 54, of Saluda, was charged with felony aiding and abetting on May 14 after allegedly driving a registered sex offender, Greg Bryant, 63, of Saluda, to a school function at Polk County High School, according to Jeff Ramsey with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office. Rogers, a teacher at Saluda Elementary School since 2014, was fired by Polk County Schools in July.

“While we cannot comment on any details related to former employees, we can confirm that Ellen Rogers is no longer employed by Polk County Schools as of July,” said Polk County Schools Superintendant Aaron Greene.

Bryant, the publisher and distributor of the ‘So Saluda’ Newsletter, was convicted in 2007 on charges of soliciting sex from a minor using a computer. He was charged in October of 2006 in Mecklenburg County.

Rogers received a continuance at her most recent court date, which was on June 5.
