Building improvements, upcoming plays also announced
SALUDA—Mountain Page Theater, located at 1303 Mountain Page Rd. in Saluda, has recently made a series of significant announcements, including details about upcoming auditions, planned improvements to the building, and the unveiling of the entire season of upcoming plays.
Mountain Page will be hosting open auditions next week for their next play, the renowned musical “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,” written by Tim Rice, with music by composer Andrew Lloyd Webber. The auditions will take place on Wednesday, August 14 and Friday, August 16, from 5 to 7 p.m. The production offers various roles for both men and women, featuring adult and child performers in different roles, including those of Joseph’s twelve brothers. While the auditions are open, interested individuals are encouraged to pre-register on the theater’s website.
Rehearsals for the play will be held on Wednesdays and Fridays from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
In addition, the theater will also be staging Thornton Wilder’s “Our Town.” While audition dates for “Our Town” have not yet been announced, they are planned to be held in October.
Mountain Page is making significant enhancements to the interior of the building, including renovating the restrooms and adding more seating. Part of the seating will be raised to provide an improved viewing experience for the audience. Additionally, a new half-circle stage is being constructed, which will be extended and elevated. This project is spearheaded by Jim Beyer.
“Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” and “Our Town” will be followed by “Carousel” in the spring and “Peter Pan Junior” for the Kid’s Summer Camp.
