SALUDA—Saluda Library Manager Amelia Medrano has recently been announced an honoree of a bonus from a world-famous author.
In April it was announced that best-selling author James Patterson would honor select American Bookseller Association and American Library Association members with bonuses to celebrate the release of his latest nonfiction title, “The Secret Lives of Booksellers & Librarians.”
Patterson chose to honor 250 American Library Association librarians with a $200 bonus award. Patterson has given over $100 million dollars to education and literacy programs.
“We are so grateful to James Patterson for offering bonuses to 250 ALA members in celebration of the truly amazing work librarians and library workers do to serve their communities,” said ALA President Emily Drabinski in a press release.
“The Secret Lives of Booksellers & Librarians” is available for checkout at the library and digitally through the Libby app. In his book, Patterson uses each chapter to dive into the charming lives of librarians and booksellers.
The book is a great read for anyone who loves their local library.
