Landrum Outdoor Craft Fair draws crowds, creativity

LANDRUM—The monthly Landrum Outdoor Craft Fair, held in conjunction with the Landrum Farmers Market, once again showcased the talents of local craftspeople. After being postponed last Saturday due to rain, the fair returned with approximately 15 vendors offering a diverse range of products.

Spartanburg’s Dora Elizondo, known for her ceramics, expressed her enthusiasm for the event, noting the friendly crowd and diverse selection of vendors. Pam Vining, from Tryon, showcased her handmade crocheted animals under the moniker Gardenia Lilac, while Lisa and Michael A. Ford of Boiling Springs presented a joint display featuring handcrafted home decor, personalized journals, and comic book art.

Helen Sprague, the creator of Mrs. Sprague’s Butters, Balms & Salves, attracted attention with her range of skincare products offered in various fragrances. Reflecting on the event, Helen commented on the market’s growing reputation and convenience as a once-a-month gathering.

Alyssa Walters of CRAFTY-A, based in Columbus, shared her excitement about the fair as an opportunity to engage with the local community and fellow craftspeople. Meanwhile, Judy Lindsey of Landrum, who has been attending the fair since 2017, showcased her skillful handmade jewelry, emphasizing her delight in participating in such a close-knit community event.

Julia Smith owner of MicreateDesigns, LLC. out of Campobello, showcased her wood and laser-cut pieces. Melia Covington of Landrum, representing Melia Grace Design Co., made her inaugural appearance at the fair, offering a selection of stickers, stationery, and design work. Other highlights included Ashley Ira’s Chaotic Cutz, Lealon McCloud’s pen-and-ink drawings, and Joy Plumley’s unique handmade creations.

Mark Goldfuss, the proprietor of Big Fuss Fresh Food, based in Simpsonville, added a flavorful touch to the fair with his offerings of fresh herb chicken salad and pimento cheese.

The Landrum Outdoor Craft Fair continues to be a wonderful monthly platform for local artisans to showcase their creativity and connect with the community.
