Community comes alive at Tryon’s Fourth Friday event

TRYON—The Fourth Friday event held on July 26 in downtown Tryon saw a huge turnout of locals and visitors alike, drawing them to explore the shops and restaurants. Scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m., the monthly events continue to be an ever-changing mix of activities that bring the community together.
Attendees enjoyed a variety of offerings from the numerous shops and restaurants, including specials, live music, and refreshments.
The Rich Nelson Band, from Tryon treated the audience to a blend of original compositions and classic rock at the Plaza. Tim Daniels, Kym Bailey, and Katie Lindsey, volunteers for the upcoming Tryon Beer Fest, were also on-site, signing up volunteers for the festival on November 2.
Over at Wild Petunias Gift Shop and Boutique, owner Connie Cook, with help from Kathy Mudge, engaged attendees by offering spiced pecans, complemented with a choice of prosecco or grape juice, while showcasing its diverse range of gift options. Meanwhile, at Hypnotic Massage, owner Rebekah Delling celebrated her business’s third anniversary by distributing cupcakes and treats to visitors.
Following the Fourth Friday events, Back Alley Boutique & Bud Bar hosted a lively game night. A variety of board games provided patrons with an entertaining activity to conclude the evening.
The bustling restaurants drew in crowds, adding to the lively ambiance of the event. Each Fourth Friday brings its own unique experience, making it an eagerly anticipated occasion.
Fourth Fridays are organized by the Town of Tryon and the Tryon Downtown Development Association, which continually strives to enrich the community by focusing on economic vitality, excellent urban design, and historic preservation through a downtown revitalization program.
The next 4th Friday event will be August 23, when the election for Dog Mayor will be held.
