Polk Family Fun Day to take place at Isothermal Community College

COLUMBUS—Isothermal Community College is set to host the Polk Family Fun Day on Thursday, August 1, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the school’s Polk Campus, located at 1255 W. Mills St.
The event promises a day filled with joy and entertainment, offering games, crafts, food trucks, and more for the whole family to enjoy.
Community partners such as Polk County Public Libraries, Polk County Transit, Pisgah Legal Services, NCWorks, and Share Thy Bread Food Pantry will join in, adding to the excitement of the day. WNCW will provide music for attendees to enjoy.
Sip and Sparkle will offer slushies and natural sodas, and Kirk’s Kitchen will have its food truck onsite. Additionally, storytime sessions will be held inside the Polk Campus at 12:15, 1:30, and 2:45 p.m., and family-friendly short films will be shown at 11:30 a.m., 12:45 p.m., and 2:00 p.m. Light refreshments will also be served during the event.
Amy Galla, the Director of College and Career Readiness, encourages people from the area to attend.
“With Family Fun Fest, we’re hoping to connect with the Polk County community and show what we’ve been doing and what’s to come in the future,” she says. “We’ve got some great free and low-cost programs and classes we want to let the community know all about.”
