TRYON—Local author Robin A. Edgar will be signing her latest book, In My Father’s Footsteps, on July 26 during Fourth Friday from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the BookShelf. Located at 17 South Trade Street in Tryon, the independent bookstore specializes in books, gifts, designer chocolates, wooden toys, and Morris the Horse artifacts.

In My Father’s Footsteps offers individuals examples of how to recall significant memories and celebrate fathers or other individuals and incidents that shaped their lives. The author uses personal stories to illustrate how her father’s life influenced her. Using the exercises in the back of the book, readers can use those recollections to inspire them to do the same about their father or another family member or acquaintance whose actions made a lasting impression on them.

My first book, In My Mother’s Kitchen: An Introduction to the Healing Power of Reminiscence, celebrates my mother and what she meant to me and taught me by her example. I hope the stories I shared in In My Father’s Footsteps will encourage readers to recall and recognize how their father or other people shaped their lives. It can also help to assuage grief from the loss of a loved one,” says Edgar.
