SALUDA—The City of Saluda has issued a Stage 1 water shortage advisory in response to current water supply conditions indicating a potential shortage.
City officials encourage residents to reduce their water usage and improve water efficiency voluntarily. However, no penalties will apply for noncompliance at this stage.
As part of the voluntary measures, water customers in Saluda are asked to limit lawn and garden watering to what is necessary for plant survival and refrain from washing outside areas such as sidewalks, patios, and parking lots. Car washing should be minimized.
In addition to limiting toilet flushing and reducing the use of clothes washers and dishwashers, customers should avoid leaving faucets running unnecessarily and opt for showers over baths, limiting the duration.
Officials also advocate the use of flow-restrictive and water-saving devices and ask water customers to temporarily postpone new landscape work until the water advisory is lifted.
The City of Saluda and its residents are taking proactive steps to address the potential water shortage and mitigate its impact on the community. By cooperating and adopting these voluntary measures, everyone can contribute to the conservation of water resources during this challenging period.
