Graveside services for Valerie Virginia Payne were held on Friday, June 28, at Good Shepherd Cemetery, with the Rev. Eleanor D. Miller officiating.
Miss Payne was a native of Tryon, the daughter of the late James and Verlee Payne.
She was a graduate of Tryon High School and Western Carolina University. She spent her career in banking with Bank of America in Charlotte, NC. Miss Payne passed away on June 18 in a skilled nursing center in Atlanta, Georgia, after a long illness. She is survived by several cousins, an aunt, an uncle, several friends, and schoolmates.
