Several exciting July 4th celebrations and events are planned in the local area for next Thursday and Friday, commemorating the signing of the Declaration of Independence by the Continental Congress in 1776 and the birth of the United States. 

For cycling enthusiasts, the Tryon Rotary Club is organizing a bike ride from 9 a.m. to noon on July 4th, starting from Harmon Field, 373 Harmon Field Rd., Tryon, NC. Pre-registration is required. 

The 61st Fabulous Fourth of July Celebration in downtown Columbus promises a family-oriented, fun-filled day from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., with an array of entertainment and a spectacular fireworks display.

On Friday, July 5, Saluda is inviting folks to its 4th of July celebration at Orchard Lake Campground on 380 Orchard Park Rd. as a fundraiser for the Saluda Volunteer Fire Department. Visitors are encouraged to make donations and enjoy a fireworks display commencing at dusk, around 9:00 p.m. 

Enchanted Homes at 5730 Hwy 357 in Campobello will host its annual Fourth of July Celebration on Thursday, beginning at 6:30 p.m. This family-friendly event will offer hot dogs, chips, snow cones, and drinks, with fireworks starting at dusk. Note that no pets or alcohol are permitted at the celebration. 

With a variety of events planned across the area, there is something for everyone to enjoy this Fourth of July. These celebrations are not just about the history and the fun but also about coming together as a community and celebrating freedom and patriotism.
