TRYON – Charles Terry Waters, 73, of Tryon, went home to be with the Lord, Monday afternoon, June 10, 2024, at White Oak Manor of Tryon.
A native and lifelong resident of Tryon, Charles was the son of the late Willie Waters and Ruby Owens Waters. For the last 36 years, Charles has been a resident of White Oak Manor of Tryon and was spoiled by the loving staff. Charles loved watching television, especially Sponge Bob, Walker Texas Ranger and As the World Turns, with Victor Newman being his favorite actor on the show. Charles also loved his Mountain Dews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Donald Waters, Ted Owens and Larry Waters; one sister, Mary Smith.
Surviving are two sisters, Polly White (Billy) of Campobello and Brenda Lewis of Campobello; one sister-in-law, Elna Owens of Columbus. Also surviving is his extended family at White Oak Manor of Tryon whom he dearly loved and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Friday, June 14, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. in the McFarland Funeral Chapel.
A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral chapel, with Reverend John Williams officiating.
Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens in Columbus.
Pallbearers will be Josh White, Ray White, Tanner White, Maddox White, Blaine Owens and Kevin Metcalf.
