Event to feature live music, kids’ activities, and more
COLUMBUS—Jackson’s Wrecker Service is holding a celebration for its 50th anniversary on Saturday, June 15, from 5 to 10 p.m. at Veterans Park in Columbus.
This free community event will feature food available for purchase, bounce houses for the kids, and live entertainment by Heath Fowler Music and The Dirty South Band.
Started in Columbus in 1974 by the late David Jackson, Jackson’s Wrecker Service quickly became the top wrecker service in the area by developing great relationships with the community. After David’s passing in 2021, his brother, Donald Jackson, took the reins of the company and continues the legacy and traditions that the wrecker service is known for to this day.
“To be able to carry on what David worked his tail off for means the world to me and my family,” Donald told the Bulletin earlier this year. “Not only did he work hard but he built relationships within the community like no other.”
Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair and enjoy the music and festivities. Veterans Park is located at 95 Walker Street.
