Polk County District Court results – May 29, 2024

In Polk County District Court on May 29, 2024, with Judge Abe Hudson presiding, 162 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.      

The following persons were convicted of a crime:

 

Kimberly Cogdell was convicted of possession of drug paraphernalia. Cogdell was sentenced to 16 days in jail, with 16 days credit time served.

Michelle Lee Cole was convicted of reckless driving to endanger. Cole was fined $108 plus court costs.

Robert Gosnell was convicted of failure to heed police lights and sirens. Gosnell was fined $50 plus court costs.

Ricky Dean Shehan was convicted of possession with intent to sell or distribute methamphetamine. Shehan was sentenced to seven to 18 months in jail.  

Timothy Wayne Smith was convicted of driving while impaired. Smith was sentenced to 30 days in jail, suspended for 12 months of unsupervised probation. Smith must also complete 24 hours of community service and a drug abuse and safe driving course, and was fined $50 plus court costs.

Jerry Lewis Toney was convicted of assault on a government official. Toney was sentenced to 30 days in jail, with 12 days credit time served. 

Travis Germaine Young was convicted of possession of drug paraphernalia. Young was sentenced to 30 days in jail, suspended for 12 months of unsupervised probation. Young must also complete 24 hours of community service and a substance abuse assessment.
