TRYON—Pam McNeil was honored on Monday, June 3, at the Tryon United Methodist Church with a $500 donation to Tryon Little Theater made in her name. The donation was given by the church to purchase a keyboard for the theater workshop. Tryon Little Theater Board Secretary Susie Kocher accepted the check at their 11 a.m. service.
A letter from the church presented to McNeil reads, “We give this gift in honor of our dear friend, Pam McNeil, who gives generously, faithfully, and beautifully of her gifts and talents to our church, your theater, and our community. We are grateful for the ways Pam brings joy to many with the music she shares, along with her beautiful spirit.
“We give thanks to Tryon Little Theater for the work you do and the ways you not only entertain but also for the many years you have served our community.”
The letter continues, adding “We give thanks for Pam and thanks that she graces all of us with her gifts. We joyfully present you with this gift and look forward to the music that will be shared in years to come.”
McNeil recently retired from Saluda Elementary School after a long career as their music teacher. She has also served the community for many years as music director for countless Tryon Little Theater productions and as accompanist for the Community Chorus.
