Columbus Farmer’s Market to hold Ice Cream Tasting on June 8

POLK COUNTY—This weekend, the Columbus Farmer’s Market will feature an ice cream tasting sponsored by the Farm Bureau, featuring ice cream from Looking Glass Creamery.
In celebration of Dairy Month, Farm Bureau will sponsor the tasting on June 8, from 8 a.m. to noon, providing samples of ice cream while supplies last. Additionally, there will be a reading of “Tales of the Dairy Godmother” for children.
Located in Columbus, Looking Glass Creamery is a farmstead and seasonal dairy company specializing in dairy farming, cheesemaking, ice cream production, pickles, and preserves. “Tales of the Dairy Godmother” is a fictional book that delves into the whimsical world of unlimited ice cream wishes, featuring the Dairy Godmother who fulfills dairy dreams while emphasizing the hard work and dedication involved in dairy farming and ice cream production.
The Saluda Tailgate Market will take place on Friday, June 7, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Saluda Elementary School.
The markets will also feature a variety of vendors, including Appalachian Ways, Arboreal Art, Ashley’s Plants, Beagle Hill Honey, Bello Tallow, Blessings Berry and Plant Farm, Bloodroot Hollow Farm + Apothecary, Braylee’s Eggs, Case’s Produce, CatsMeow Pottery, Charlene’s Garden, Cinch Spice Blends, Courthouse Crafts, Dan’s Tree Treasures, Dancing Doggies, Dickens Bees, For Good Measure, Foxtrot Hill Farm, Gigi’s Creations, and Harmony Hill.
