Golfers enjoyed a spectacular afternoon Thursday while competing in the 18th Annual PCHS Athletics Golf Tournament at Links O’Tryon.

Fourteen teams participated in the annual event, which serves as a fundraiser for Polk County athletics. Individual teams raise funds for their programs, and funds are generated for the general athletic program.

Teams enjoyed lunch before hitting the course in a shotgun start for the tourney, played in a captain’s choice format.

Winners included:

Columbus Flight

• First Place: Jeremy Yoder, Rich Metcalf, Travis Aldred, Simon Behan
• Second Place: Brian Carroll, Brock Carroll, Tadd Gosnell, Jeff Estoehr

Tryon Flight

• First Place: Bill Miller, Robert Carter, Matt McKenzie, Craig Gillie
• Second Place: Joseph Ross, Rooster Ross, Savannah Webb, Luke Webb

Dusenbury Insurance Agency, MWW on Demand, Garrison Family Dentistry, and Mike and Amy Ashworth were major sponsors of the tournament.
