COLUMBUS—One of the area’s newest and most unique businesses is The Healing Cottage, home to Phoenix Chiropractic and Dr. Nikki White, MSDC. It is located at 148 E. Mills Street, in what was recently the Flower Cottage and historically the first school building in town.
Owned and operated by Dr. Nicole White, the Healing Cottage is not just her chiropractic office. Along with office administrator Jessica Pace, they are building a place that offers a multidisciplinary, holistic approach to healing. She has created a one-stop shop for total healing, bringing in other professionals, a list of which can be found at healingcottagenc.com, and even has a small boutique area selling custom-made Fox & Beau Jewelry from Asheville. They will be adding more classes and specialists in the coming months.
Dr. White holds a Doctorate in Chiropractic Medicine and has an extensive academic and scientific background. Her credentials include Bachelor’s degrees in Biology and Chemistry and a Master’s in Nutrition, and she is a certified practitioner of Applied Kinesiology. Dr. White’s unwavering dedication to family health and nutrition led her to practice chiropractic medicine in various states, including New Jersey, Kentucky, Florida, and now North Carolina.
“The purpose of my practice is for my patients to reach optimal vitality and health by getting to any root causes,” says Dr. White. “My goal is to look for the root issue of any discomfort or disease. So I do that through chiropractic adjustments, nutritional supplements, herbal tonics, and other techniques.”
Her genuine passion for health and wellness drives her to consider all aspects of her client’s well-being, helping them look and feel better and aiding the body’s natural healing process.
Dr. White moved to the area from Florida after an extensive search. “I went to college in the South and knew that’s where I wanted to end up. I knew immediately Polk County was where I wanted to be when I found my house, researched the schools and came to visit. It was clear this was the spot I was looking for, a loving family-oriented community.”
The Healing Cottage also offers functional holistic medicine made with pharmaceutical-grade herbs. These herbs provide what the body needs through custom tonics that can help with indigestion, lack of energy, inflammation, and more, Dr. White says.
The Healing Cottage is open Tuesday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information or to make an appointment, call (828) 305-0644, visit their website, phoenixchiropracticnc.com, or just stop in and check out the jewelry and herbal medicines.
