Polk County District Court results – May 1, 2024 & May 15, 2024

In Polk County District Court on May 1, 2024, with Judge Lora Baker presiding, 126 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court. 

 

The following persons were convicted of a crime:

Geoffrey John Bernard was convicted of reckless driving with wanton disregard. Bernard was fined $104 plus court costs.

Whitney Burgess was convicted of driving without a license. Burgess was sentenced to one day in jail, with one day credit time served, and was fined court costs.

 

Stephen Jason Collins was convicted of possession of marijuana ½ to 1.5 oz. Collins was sentenced to 10 days in jail, suspended for 12 months of unsupervised probation. Collins must also complete a substance abuse assessment. 

 

Felipe Garcia Flores was convicted of driving while impaired. Flores was sentenced to 30 days in jail, suspended for 12 months of unsupervised probation. Flores must also complete 24 hours of community service, a substance abuse assessment and was fined $100 plus court costs. 

 

Wiley Madden Gowan was convicted of driving while impaired. Gowan was sentenced to 30 days in jail, suspended for 12 months of unsupervised probation. Gowan must also complete 24 hours of community service, a substance abuse assessment and was fined $100 plus court costs.

 

Erik James Tardio was convicted of possession of drug paraphernalia. Tardio was fined $30 plus court costs.

 

In Polk County District Court on May 15, 2024, with Judge Abe Hudson presiding, 89 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court. 

 

The following persons were convicted of a crime:

 

Scott Branan Carter was convicted of driving while impaired. Carter was sentenced to 30 days in jail, suspended for 12 months of unsupervised probation. Carter must also complete a substance abuse assessment and 24 hours of community service.

 

Mark Lee Cochrane was convicted of carrying a concealed gun. Cochrane was sentenced to 30 days in jail, suspended for 12 months of unsupervised probation, and paid court costs.

 

William Lawrence was convicted of obtaining property under false pretenses. Lawrence was sentenced to seven to 18 months in jail, suspended for 12 months of supervised probation. 

 

Geronimo Melecio was convicted of driving while impaired. Melecio was sentenced to 30 days in jail, suspended for 12 months of unsupervised probation. Melecio must also complete a substance abuse assessment, 24 hours of community service and was fined $50 plus court costs.

 

Bobbie Lynn Mott was convicted of driving while impaired. Mott was sentenced to 30 days in jail, suspended for 12 months of unsupervised probation. Mott must also complete 24 hours of community service and was fined $105 plus court costs.

 

Ruvim Zarkudaev was convicted of resisting a public officer. Zarkudaev was sentenced to 30 days in jail, suspended for 12 months of unsupervised probation and was fined $300 plus court costs.
