TRYON—May 19 was Graduate Day at the First Baptist Church of Tryon. The Reverend Dr. Jeff Harris recognized 2024 high school and college graduates at the service.
High school graduates include Phoebe Anagnos, who will attend the University of Pennsylvania; Lawson Carter and Taylor Clark, who are both enrolling in the University of North Carolina; Hattie Ruth Jolly-Crawford, who is enrolling in Cosmetology School; McClain Koistinen, who will attend North Greenville University; Luke Miller, who will attend Western Carolina University; and StorieLane Whiteside who is entering University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
College graduates include Taylor Jackson, who was awarded a Bachelor of Science in Nursing by Western Carolina; Stefanie Tyler, who received a Bachelor of Education from Liberty University; and Sydney Waldman, who graduated from the University of North Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.
First Baptist Tryon Scholarship Chair Beth McCallister also awarded six $1,000 scholarships after thanking the families that established the funds.
