Taking a breather

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

It’s been a while since we last spoke. There are two reasons for this.

First, I’ve been battling a stomach virus; it’s annoying but not too much to worry about. The hard part is that these old bones take a lot longer to recuperate. Second, I’ve only handled a few minor cases lately, and they are doing well, but there’s not too much to write home about (pun intended).

I recently visited Scratch at Dogwood Farms and am always amazed at how wonderfully he has come along. Scratch will be the most loyal and loving animal they’ve ever owned when the right person comes along. He’s only a bit over a year old and full of life. For Scratch’s sake, I’m hoping that someone will contact me, Dogwood Farms, or Bobbie Shannon about him. In the meantime it costs $28 a day to board him, which is money well spent; Josh does much more for me than just board one of my kids, and I’m ever grateful.

Little Lexi, the 10-month-old Chihuahua scheduled for knee surgery this month, has been evaluated at Upstate Specialists. It has been deemed best to wait a little longer, and the first surgery will be the second week of May. Lexi has luxating patellas in both hind legs. She will have two separate operations, two weeks apart.

Meanwhile the little girl is in the loving hands of Verna at Forever Dream Sanctuary.

So, little Lexi, just hang in there. Verna will care for you, and Uncle Lennie has your back.

Till we speak again, God bless.

And thanks for listening.
