TRYON—On Saturday, April 20, area volunteers met at Harmon Field to pick up litter at the park and remove trash and debris from the Pacolet River during the First Annual Pacolet River and Harmon Field Clean-Up.
Quible & Associates, P.C. organized and sponsored the event with the assistance of Harmon Field Superintendent Brad Gordon.
Items removed from the park and river included a garden hose, pool ladder, metal water tank, treated lumber, and metal debris. Organizers thanked all the volunteers for their hard work.
“We would like to express our appreciation to everyone who took part in today’s trash cleanup event at Harmon Field along the Pacolet River,” said Gordon. “We are grateful to Warren Eadus and Quible & Associates, P.C. for their support and leadership in organizing this event. As the park superintendent, it was inspiring to see the community involvement. Our collective efforts can make a substantial impact. We acknowledge the contribution of our community in enhancing our park, making it a place for all to enjoy.”
Prizes were given out for Most Trash, Most Interesting Piece of Trash and Longest Piece of Trash.
