Lake Lure— Rosa Estelle Norris, a woman whose life was defined by grit and grace, left this world behind on March 25, 2024.  Born in McDowell County on October 10, 1927 she had 96 years of impact on the lives of her family and friends. A lover of flowers and animals, she knew the secret to growing the biggest tomatoes in the garden, and made the best cat head biscuits, gravy, and fried chicken for Sunday dinner.

She is joyfully joining her son Norman and daughter Shirley and all those saints who have gone on before her.  Left to honor her memory are sons: Leon, Russell, Roger; Grandchildren: Liz, David, Daniel, Dawn, Jessica, and Roger, along with her Great-Grandchildren. The family will be holding a private Celebration of Life.
