COLUMBUS—One of the newest dining experiences in the area is Zoe’s Place, which opened last Wednesday at 192 E. Mills St., in the space formerly occupied by Southern Manners.
Zoe’s Place serves breakfast, lunch and dinner centered around a salad bar and deli, allowing it to cater to sit-down customers and those looking to grab something on the go. The restaurant is owned and operated by Demetrios and Lisa, who also run Manzolina’s Eatery at Harmon Field in Tryon and the Lunch Box inside the VGo Texaco station. Manzolina’s was named after all three of their kids, and Zoe’s Place is named specifically after their middle daughter.
“I’ve been working in the restaurant business my whole career, beginning as a kid with my father in New York and continuing when we moved down here,” said owner and chef Demetrios. “So when the old Southern Manners building opened up, we decided, after some discussion, that it was the right place for us to open our third local eatery. It’s a great location in a wonderful community. We look forward to serving more.”
Zoe’s Place has a diner-style menu that serves all items no matter the time of day.
“If someone wants steak and fries at 6 a.m. or bacon and eggs at 6 p.m., we will cook it up for them,” adds Demetrios. The lunch side of the menu features custom salads, hot and cold deli sandwiches, burgers, quesadillas and numerous other choices. It also offers plenty of options for kids.
After breakfast, the restaurant is centered around one of the few salad bars in the area. The salad bar features all the usuals, beginning with romaine and spring mix along with red peppers, tomatoes and several choices of protein.
The entire restaurant area has been repainted with a new layout for the dining area.
Call-in orders and catering are available, and plenty of tables are available for dine-in customers.
“Zoe’s place is full of smiling faces, happy guests, great food, and a great environment,” said waitress Kate Arrowood. “We’re excited for everyone to stop in.”
Zoe’s Place is open six days a week, from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. It is closed on Wednesdays. On Saturdays, the restaurant is open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., and it is open from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sundays.
Call-in orders are available at 828-802-1039.
