The Polk County High School Athletic Department will begin recognizing two athletic standouts each week as the PCHS Athletes of The Week.

Coaches and athletic administrators will select the weekly winners, which will be announced on Mondays.

The following athletes are the selections for the first two weeks of the spring season:

Week 1

Female: Karsyn Huskey, track and field, qualified for the 1A West Regional in the 800-meter run.

Male: Aaron Dickey, track and field, qualified for the 1A West Regional in the long jump.

Week 2

Female: Caroline Taylor, girls soccer, scored a goal and two assists and created several scoring opportunities.

Male: Gunnar Alm, baseball. Homered twice in a win over Landrum and helped lead Polk to a win at East Henderson
