NC Co-Op Extension kicks off 2024 Berry and Plant Sale

COLUMBUS—The Polk County NC Co-Op Extension has launched its annual berry and plant sale, offering a variety of plants for customers to purchase. The sale, which runs through February 3, includes strawberry, blueberry, raspberry, blackberry and asparagus plants that will be ready for pick-up in mid-March.
All sales will be through the Co-Op Extension, with proceeds going to support classes, activities and other research the Co-Op provides for the local area. Customers can order the plants by using the order form available on their website or by visiting the Co-Op offices in person. Payments can be made through checks mailed to PCCE, PO Box 187, Columbus, NC.
The plants are available on a first-come-first-serve basis. Bundles of 25 strawberry plants come in two varieties priced at $12 per bundle. Blackberries come in two types and are priced at $9 per plant. Himbo Top raspberries are priced at $8 per plant, while blueberries come in 10 varieties at $10 per plant. Millennium asparagus comes in bundles of 10 for $15 per bundle.
The Polk County NC Co-Op Extension is located at 79 Carmel Lane, Columbus, behind the Meeting Place. Customers are advised to place their orders and make payments before the deadline to secure their desired plants.
