With this most recent heavy rainstorm, we experienced yet again hundreds of gallons of wastewater spilling into Vaughn Creek. The smell of raw sewage is overwhelming and undeniable. Our beautiful Tryon is quickly becoming an environmental disaster due to our failing infrastructure.
With the recent passing of one of our Town Council members, the Town Council will now need to appoint a new member to fill out the remaining term of Bill Ingham.
I believe strongly that the appointment should be someone on the Planning Commission with either architectural or construction experience who can guide this Town through the proper and affordable overhaul of our water system. We CANNOT kick this can down the road any longer.
