New healthcare facility to offer innovative and personalized treatments

 

COLUMBUS—Fortify Wellness, a unique new healthcare facility, is opening in Columbus.

Fortify Wellness services include intravenous treatments such as vitamins, minerals, ozone, chelation, Plaquex, intramuscular injections to boost the immune system and oral peptides. 

The location also offers ionic foot detox and mild soft chamber hyperbaric oxygen treatments, as well as other treatments planned for the near future.

Owner Maria Pellegrino, originally of Florida, held a soft opening roughly six weeks ago. The Fortify Wellness brick-and-mortar location will officially open on January 3.

“I am offering services that are not normally used in traditional American medicine, but have been researched worldwide, such as IV Vitamin C and ozone therapies,” explained Pellegrino. “I too want to spend time with each client and discover how we can best meet their wellness needs.”

Pellegrino worked as a paramedic both in Florida and western North Carolina on ground and helicopter services. She lived in Columbus for 16 years after graduating from the University of South Carolina Nurse Anesthesia program in 2000. Since then she has worked in western North Carolina and upstate South Carolina in hospitals and surgery centers as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. She’s lived in the Campobello area since 2015.

Pellegrino will work in conjunction with Fortify Wellness’ Medical Director Dr. Lisa J. Broyles, MD. Dr. Broyles received degrees in both Biology and Spanish at UNC Chapel Hill and her medical doctorate from Brody School of Medicine in Greenville, N.C.  

“The main goal of Fortify Wellness is in its name. We want to help your body heal and restore energy and vitality,” Pellegrino said. “We want you to feel truly cared for and important, and we understand the unique challenges with difficult chronic illnesses. We feel compassionate toward those who have sought traditional methods of health care and are seeking lesser known but proven modalities to improve their health.”
