TRYON— On Christmas Eve 2023, Edith Marie Sparks Brammer, 78, left this earthly world to join the heavenly angels in song to rejoice with our Lord and Savior.
Edith was born in Greensboro, NC, on August 15, 1945, to the late Garlis Hugh and Grace Wagoner Sparks. She married James Woody Brammer, on February 24, 1963, and they celebrated 60 years together.
In addition to her loving husband Woody, Edith is survived by three daughters: Valarie (Johnny) Ross, Vicki (Jason) Dudley, Cindy (Michael) Campbell; seven grandchildren: Stephanie, James, and Hunter (Paige) Ross, Joshua (Maddie) Greer and Jordan (Matthew) Golden, Ethan and Preston Campbell; two great-granddaughters: Jaycee & Wren Greer; one brother: Wayne (Betty) Sparks; one sister-in-law: Judy Sparks; and many wonderful nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her brothers, Lyvern (Betty) Sparks and Ricky Sparks.
Edith spent her life primarily as a homemaker caring for her family. She enjoyed cooking, sewing projects of all kinds, and sharing her love for music and dancing. Edith grew up in a musically talented family and often used her music to express her deepest feelings. Singing in the church choir was her greatest passion and in later years, she revived her love for guitar and she and Woody joined a group of friends for weekly local pickin’ parlor entertainment. They spent their retirement years in the NC foothills in their lifelong dream of a cabin nestled in the woods.
A family memorial service is to be arranged at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Les Feldick Ministries, 30706 W. Lona Valley Road, Kinta, Oklahoma 74552 www.lesfeldick.com.
