Spindale— Sherry Brittain Halford, 61, of Spindale, NC passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at the Elizabeth House in East Flat Rock, NC.

Born October 6, 1962, in Cheverly, MD, she was a daughter of Doris McDade and her spouse, Lewis, of Mill Spring, NC, and the late William Brittain. Sherry was the embodiment of strength and perseverance. She was a true force of nature, whose love and loyalty for her family knew no bounds. Her wild and free spirit will be remembered by all who knew her.

In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her brother, Jeff Brittain.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her children, Chalyn Kerr and her spouse, Warren, of Columbus, NC, Courtney Littlejohn and her spouse, Cary, of Inman, SC, and Cody Halford of Mill Spring, NC; siblings, Debbie Greene of Mill Spring, NC, Vicki Bridges and her spouse, Blake, of Green Creek, NC, and Destiny Hoots and her spouse, Josh, of Mill Spring, NC; and a wonderful granddaughter, Brittain Littlejohn.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on December 23rd in the chapel of Pea Ridge Baptist Church, 8732 Highway 108 E, Mill Spring, NC. Condolences may be made to the family at www.ashevillemortuaryservices.com.
