Columbus—In the tender embrace of eternal peace, Austin Painter transitioned from this life at the age of 31 on Sunday, December 3, 2023, while at his home in Columbus, NC. Austin was the devoted father of Avalynn Marie Painter, Averlee Lucy Kay Painter, and Wrenlee Amelia Painter. Austin found solace in the artistry of carpentry and the serenity of outdoor pursuits, particularly hunting and fishing. Beyond his professional and recreational pursuits, Austin’s deepest joy emanated from his role as a loving father to his three precious daughters. Haley Moore is the loving mother of Avalynn and Averlee.

Reflecting on Austin’s life, we fondly recall a soul cherished by his mother, Lisa Metcalf Jenkins, and dad, Bryan Keith Jenkins. His brothers, Kameron Chase Painter, Bryson Keith Jenkins, and Joseph Blake Painter, along with his sisters, Kaylin Lucy Brooke Jenkins and Mackenzie Elizabeth Painter, weave their memories into the tapestry of his legacy. Austin’s journey is further embraced by his father, Barry Kenneth Painter, stepmother, Emily Ann Painter, and grandparents Larry Jenkins, Coy Painter, and Ronald and Trudy Pecoul. As we honor Austin’s memory, we tenderly remember his grandparents Sanford and Lucy Metcalf, Peggy Painter, and Becky Jenkins, whose footsteps he now follows. An extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends will cherish Austin’s memories.

A celebration of Austin’s life will unfold at the Big Level Baptist Church Cemetery on December 10, 2023, at 3 PM, under the guiding words of Reverend Timmy Metcalf. Receiving of friends will be from 1:30 to 3 PM at Big Level Baptist Church, inviting friends and family to gather in shared stories, laughter, and love. Crowe’s Mortuary, with deep respect, stands by the Painter family during this time of reflection, offering solace as we bid adieu to Austin, a soul whose imprint will forever linger in our hearts.
