Parade and celebration rescheduled due to inclement weather
COLUMBUS—The Town of Columbus Christmas Parade has been rescheduled for Saturday, December 16, at 4 p.m.
The parade will be followed by holiday festivities at Stearns Park beginning at 5 p.m. The Christmas Parade was initially scheduled for Saturday, December 2, but had to be postponed due to rainy weather.
The event is being organized by the Town of Columbus and the Columbus Fire Department, along with Discover Columbus.
“The fire department decided to change the date due to the weather, and Discover Columbus decided to move the festivities afterward, too,” said Columbus Town Clerk Daisy Trejo.
The parade will begin at Park St. beside Bubbles Car Wash and will proceed through town, ending on Christopher St. by Rosenberg’s Bone and Joint. It will immediately be followed by ‘Home Town Christmas,’ an event at Stearns Park that will feature treats, festivities and activities for the community. The Town of Columbus asks that businesses, organizations, churches and any others who have a desire to be involved to join them on the lawn at Stearns Park after the parade.
