New beauty boutique offers skin care products and treatments

TRYON—Jay & Co. Skin Studio, a new wellness and skin care boutique, held its Grand Opening in downtown Tryon on Friday, November 24. 

Owner Jayna Rappoli, originally from Burien, Washington, graduated from the Euro Institute of Skin Care in 2008. Shortly after, she became a medical aesthetician, performing laser treatments and medi-peels while working alongside doctors and plastic surgeons. In 2012, Rappoli became an educator for a popular skin care brand, training spa therapists on treatment protocol, technique and product knowledge in California. 

Rappoli has trained over 100 different spa teams, traveling to almost all 50 states, Canada and China. Rappoli moved her family to Tryon last year in order to be closer to her mother and father-in-law.

“I’ve decided to put the brakes on the excessive corporate life and travel, and open my own brick and mortar skin studio and wellness boutique,” said Rappoli. “I’m really looking forward to being able to bring my experience and expertise to Tryon and spend time being home with my first baby, who’s 7 months old, my amazing husband and my dog.”

Jay & Co. Skin Studio has retail items such as pottery made by Jayna herself, as well as other local artists. The store will also carry paintings, natural art, clean skin care, books, house plants, holiday gifts, tallow, bath bombs and salts.

The location also offers treatments such as European facials, microneedling, nanoeedling and chemical peels. There are also monthly pop-up botox and massage events planned for the near future.

“My goal is to help those who struggle with self-confidence, by educating and transforming their complexion but also bring more happiness and wellness to the community,” said Rappoli. “When you’re a client getting a treatment, the entire studio is yours and you will have my undivided attention.”

Jay & Co. Skin Studio is located at 75 South Trade Street, Suite E. The store will be open Wednesday and Thursday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday and Saturday 10 a.m to 5 p.m., and Sunday 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
