Warrenton— William R. “Bobby” Reynolds was born in Flint Hill, VA to Arthur and Edna Reynolds. Bobby moved with his family to Tryon, NC when he was about six years of age. His primary education was provided by the Tryon school system, and he graduated from Tryon High School in 1953. He then earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Cullowhee, NC from Western Carolina University in 1957.
Following college, Bobby served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in the late 1950s. Soon thereafter, he began his long career working for the United States Government (Department of Defense). He spent the vast majority of his time-based at the Pentagon. On many weekends he spent time visiting his family in Warrenton, VA. In addition, he often helped out at his father’s stable. Upon retirement from the federal government, Bobby retired to Warrenton.
He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Ernie Oare; his nephews & nieces, Morey Oare (Jaimie), Reynolds Oare (Valerie), Lydia Smith (Joe), and Jay Reynolds (Maggie); and great-nephews & nieces….Reilly Oare, Marley Oare, James Oare, Noah Oare, and Henry Smith. He was pre-deceased by his parents, J. Arthur and Edna M. Reynolds, and his brother J.A. “Bucky” Reynolds, II.
There will be a graveside service at the Warrenton Cemetery on Monday, November 20th at 2 pm.
