The Town of Tryon will begin leaf vacuuming street by street on Monday, November 27, beginning on New Market in the Godshaw Hill Community. For this reason, residents are asked to have leaves at the curbside by Sunday, November 26. The vacuuming will circle the town and work towards Jervey Road.
After Godshaw Hill, the vacuuming will continue into the Eastside Community, Screven Rd. area, Hidden Hill/Wilcox, Lockhart/Doubleday, Gillette Woods, and will end in the Jervey area.
To assist in this effort, residents are asked to make sure all leaf piles are unbagged and free of brush, foreign debris and trash and placed at the curbside, and to not pile the leaves in the street gutters where they will become wet and impossible to vacuum.
The time required to complete this task may be affected by the weather, as wet leaves cannot be effectively vacuumed. The order in which individual streets will be cleared may also vary with the local conditions of the leaves and other factors. Once a resident’s street has been vacuumed, any further leaf debris must be bagged for pick-up.
