Nostalgia is in full swing, as FENCE is gearing up for its inaugural Day at the Races on October 14, where a bonanza of race spectators in their fancy hats and pants will cheer on the horses and jockeys as they go ‘round and ‘round the steeplechase track. Expect an afternoon full of horse races, a tailgate-themed contest, lots of family fun activities, and of course the hat contest! 

Day at the Races is for the whole family, with a kid’s stick horse race during the intermission of the races. Adults are encouraged to participate in the “Hoppity-Hops” race for pure entertainment and fun. There will be open tailgating for the duration of the races and food trucks on-site as well. 

Tailgating these events is a sure way to show off the fashionable outfits and the picturesque place settings for the themed picnic. The presenting sponsor for this season’s Day at the Races is Tryon Horse & Home.
