LANDRUM— Bruce Austin Carswell, 83, of Landrum passed away on September 24, 2023.  He was the son of the late Buren and Addie Mae Taylor Carswell.

The most important thing to him was his family.   He was a member of Gowensville Baptist Church and was self-employed.

He is survived by his wife Lura Hamrick Carswell; two daughters Gaye Atkins (Randy) and Sonya Price (Brian); a brother Nick Carswell; two sisters Jeanette Rickman and Sandra Crain; six grandchildren Bruce Atkins (Shana), Derek Atkins (Heather), Jessica Wilson (John), Macy Linaweaver (Nathan), Ethan Price (Natalie) and Alana Price; nine great-grandchildren Adrian, Kaylee, Jordan, Ollie, Sawyer, Emmy, Bax, Knox and Nash.

He was predeceased by a brother Gary Carswell.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, September 28, 2023, at Gowensville Baptist Church conducted by Randy Atkins and Steve Price.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.   The family will receive friends in the church sanctuary following the burial.
