TRYON—Wanda May, with the Tryon History Museum, attended the Rotary Club of Tryon meeting last week to share some exciting news. The Tryon History Museum will soon be moving to a new, more visible location on N. Trade St.
The new facility will allow the Tryon History Museum to share displays highlighting Tryon artifacts and stories while also allowing the flexibility of hosting their Tryon Tales programs. In partnership with the town, the History Museum will also serve as the Visitor Center for Tryon.
Wanda has been traveling the region, visiting museums, to learn how best to present the wealth of information they have in the museum. Recently, she worked with the staff at the Mountain Gateway Museum in Old Fort on a scale model version of the Sidney Lanier display they are considering for the museum. With limited space, the Tryon History Museum will need to make the most of its display space.
