Blackwell named Miss South Carolina Pre-Teen Queen

Miss Aleigha Blackwell, daughter of William Eric and Rita Blackwell of Landrum, was crowned 2023 National American Miss South Carolina Pre-Teen Queen at the state pageant held on August 5, 2023, at the Hilton Hotel in Charlotte.
Blackwell received her Official State Crown, Banner and Trophy, and also received a special invitation to compete at the National Pageant held during Thanksgiving Week in Orlando, Fla. At the pageant, she also received First Place for Talent and First Place for Top Model Optional Contests for the South Carolina Pre-Teen National Miss division.
The National American Miss Pageants are dedicated to celebrating America’s greatness and encouraging its future leaders. Each year, the National American Miss Pageants awards 1.5 Million dollars in cash, scholarships and prizes to recognize and assist the development of young women nationwide.
National American Miss develops the success of young women with a program that is designed to be age-appropriate and family-oriented. Pageants are held in each state for girls ages four to twenty-four in six different age divisions. Makeup is not allowed on contestants 12 and under.
The National American Miss Pageants are for “Today’s Girl” and “Tomorrow’s Leaders.” The pageant program is based on inner beauty, as well as poise and presentation.
Miss Aleigha Blackwell’s activities include dance at Dance Dynamics in Tryon, (ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, contemporary, lyrical and gymnastics) and Orchestra at Campobello-Gramling School (cello). Aleigha enjoyed the South Carolina Governor’s School Summer Dance Immersion program in July 2023; she is also a member of the National Beta Club. Aleigha’s passion is dance and she volunteers frequently at her dance studio to help instruct the younger students.
Her sponsors for the pageant were Alli’s on Main (Inman, SC) and Glitzen Outdoor Holiday Lighting (Campobello, SC) along with many friends and family.
