COLUMBUS— Kathleen Herdman (Hughes), 82 died Saturday, September 3, 2023, at Spartanburg Medical Center.

Born in Los Angeles, CA, Kathleen was the daughter of the late Albert and Margret Sarrizan of CA. Kathleen moved from California to Polk County in 2001 with her late husband (2012) Roy Herdman. Kathleen was an avid college football watcher with her favorite team being the University of Notre Dame. Kathleen is survived by her daughters Lauren Townsend (Vernon) of Moyock NC, Noreen Howell Dimsdale (Bill) of Columbus NC, granddaughter Jennifer Doctor (Ryan) of Fort Wayne IN, grandson Sgt. Andrew Townsend of Fort Bragg NC, great-granddaughter Gianna Williams, great-grandsons Thomas Williams and Eli Doctor from Fort Wayne IN. Kathleen was preceded in death by her son Thomas Howell (1992) and a brother Michael Hughes (1997).
