In Polk County District Court on August 16, 2023, with Judge Mack Brittain presiding, 157 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.
The following persons were convicted of a crime:
Jessica Nicole Brown was convicted of driving while impaired. Brown was sentenced to 12 months in jail, suspended for 12 months of unsupervised probation, with 10 days served pretrial credit. Brown was also fined $400 plus court costs.
Abigail Maria Garcia was convicted of second-degree trespassing. Garcia was sentenced to one day in jail, with one day credit time served.
Matthew Pittenger was convicted of speeding. Pittenger was sentenced to 30 days in jail, suspended for 12 months of unsupervised probation, and was fined $50 plus court costs.
Emi Rodriguez-Ross was convicted of driving without a license. Rodriguez-Ross was sentenced to 120 days in jail, suspended for 12 months of unsupervised probation, and was fined $200 plus court costs.
Terry Marc Sawyer was convicted of possession with intent to sell a Schedule II controlled substance. Sawyer was sentenced to 6-17 months in jail, suspended for 24 months of supervised probation, with five days pretrial credit time served. Sawyer was also fined $200 plus court costs and must complete a substance abuse assessment.
Kent Morgan Shehan was convicted of second-degree trespassing. Shehan was sentenced to one day in jail, with one day credit time served.

Terri Lynn Graefe was convicted of unsafe movement. Graefe was fined $30 plus court costs.
Samuel Richardson was convicted of possession of methamphetamine. Richardson was sentenced to 6-17 months in jail, suspended for nine months of supervised probation, and was fined $100 plus court costs.
Kevin Cody Willoughby was convicted of simple possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance. Willoughby was sentenced to 45 days in jail, suspended for 18 months of supervised probation, with eight days credit time served. Willoughby was also fined $100 plus court costs and must complete a substance abuse treatment assessment.
