Columbus– Laural Faith Brown, aged 92 years old, went peacefully to join her Lord and Savior on August 8th, 2023, in Columbus, NC.
She graduated from the Interior Design Program at the Art Institute of Chicago. Her lifelong artistic talent was expressed through her watercolor, oil, and acrylic paintings, quilting, weaving, and floral arrangement. She wove the fabric for her wedding dress which is displayed at the Tryon Arts and Crafts School.
She was married to Eugene Elwood Brown for 48 years until he passed. Laural leaves her two children, David and Glynis; her grandchildren: Rachel, Paul, Anna, Leia, Justin, and Kyle; her great-grandchildren: Jaeden, Tyson, Bennett, Lola, and Judah.
For years Laural worked for Dr. Whitney and Dr. Bridges. She faithfully served the community by volunteering at the Landrum Animal Shelter, St. Luke’s Thrift Store, and the Hartford Program assisting those in need. Laural’s compassion for animals was displayed by fostering many older, unadoptable dogs who she dearly loved.
She was a member of the Tryon Church of God and was blessed by all of the congregation. She was a blessing to all who knew her. Laural was a kind, generous, and caring woman. She will be sorely missed.
If you have any questions or if you would like to extend your condolences to the family, you may call her daughter Glynis at (425) 315-6108.
