LANDRUM—A 67-year-old Landrum man died following an all-terrain vehicle accident on Friday.

Greenville County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call about an ATV accident at a Dill Rd. residence in Landrum on August 4, around 1:50 p.m. Officials found David William Congdon of Landrum unresponsive at the scene.

Congdon was pronounced dead shortly after 2 p.m. The Greenville County Coroner’s Office attributed the cause of death to blunt force trauma to the neck and classified it as accidental.

Officials report that Congdon was operating the ATV for maintenance on his property when the accident happened.

The circumstances of the crash are currently under investigation by the Coroner’s Office. They hope their findings will help to prevent similar incidents in the future.
