Tryon– Jill Maguire Crean, 79, of Tryon, NC, resident of the White Oak Community, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, Landrum, NC.
Born on November 17th, 1943 in Carlsbad, New Mexico, Jill Maguire Crean was the daughter of Fred and Beryl Sickles of Williston Park, NY. Jill raised her family in Port Washington, NY until her children left for college when she relocated to Florida, Virginia, and North Carolina. Jill lived a life of love, compassion, and service to her family, community, and all those around her. She let her light shine through her simple acts of kindness, sincerity, and compassion with whomever she encountered through her career paths and volunteer work at Medical Massage Therapist, Youth Instructor, Church Without Walls & Marion Regional Juvenile Detention Center, Business Owner, Fitness Studio “No Butts About It”, Long Island Child Abuse Prevention Services Board Member, volunteer, advocate, and as a Radio City Travelling Rockette
Jill Maguire Crean leaves behind a legacy of the purest kind of love, compassion, inclusiveness, joy, and cherished memories in the hearts and souls of her family and all whom she touched. She is survived by her beloved spouse, Donald Crean, of White Oak, Tryon, NC, and three children and their families: Peter Maguire Jr. and wife Krista Nobilo of Grand Junction, CO, Erin Maguire Alley, husband George Alley, granddaughters Rhian and Reese, of Columbus, NC, and Nora Maguire White, husband Kevin White, and grandsons AC, Austin, Braden, and Peyton of Harrisonburg, VA, as well as a trail of friends, loved ones, and strangers whose lives she inevitably touched all along her life’s journey.
The family will receive friends and loved ones at a Celebration of Life to honor Jill on Saturday, July 29 from 4-6 pm at Sunnydale, 334 S. Trade St. Tryon, NC 28782. The family requests that in Jill’s memory, you perform an act of kindness to a stranger or donate to a child abuse prevention center in your community.
