Second concert of summer concert series set for June 30
TRYON—Friday, June 30, the Summer Tracks concert series in Rogers Park continues with the Reedy River String Band.
Hailing from Greenville, S.C., and taking the Southeast music scene by storm, Reedy River String Band plays foot-stompin’ Appalachian roots music in three-part harmony, infused with rock ‘n roll.
All three band members are veterans of the Upstate music scene: Sterling Waite, playing fiddle, mandolin and harmonica; Rush Morgan on guitar; and Mark Dye on bass.
Fete Greenville Magazine writes of the band’s self-titled EP, “With influences rooted in bluegrass, the album resides in the ‘newgrass’ or indie bluegrass space and tells stories of love, loss, adventure and comradery.”
New View Realty of Tryon is Summer Tracks’ 23rd Season Presenting Sponsor and Modera Wealth is the concert sponsor for this show.
Trade Street Creamery & Sandwich Shoppe will be selling grilled hotdogs and veggie dogs, tuna and chicken Salad bowls, ice cream, water and soft drinks. Alcohol consumption is allowed in the park but is not for sale. Please remember, no dogs.
All shows begin at 7 p.m. In case of rain, concerts will move across the street inside Tryon Fire Dept. Audience donations, along with many local business and individual sponsors, make these shows possible. A full schedule, including performers’ bios and photos, can be found at summertracks.com.
