TRYON–A free, patriotic concert will be presented this month at Rogers Park in Tryon.
Full Throttle, one of the eight ensembles that make up the Air National Guard Band of the South, will perform at Rogers Park Amphitheater on Tuesday, June 27. The free, family-friendly concert begins at 7 p.m.
Full Throttle formed in 2021 and deploys overseas to perform for troops stationed at Forward Operating Bases. These performances provide a much-needed “taste of home” and bolster troop morale for military service members.
Back at home, the group performs at events for the TN Air National Guard, 134 Air Refueling Wing and many other military and civilian functions.
This 8-member ensemble performs classic and current rock and country hits, as well as patriotic favorites. Whether at home or abroad, their high-energy performances boost troop morale, build partnerships, and inspire patriotism with powerful music.
“Many times, people don’t have the opportunity to meet and talk with members of the military,” says TSgt. Elisa Wardeska. “So it’s our job to go out into the public to share the Air Force story and let our audiences know what the military is accomplishing here at home and abroad. We love having the opportunity to meet with and talk to our audiences and hear the stories they have to share about their own ties to the military.”
Headquartered in Knoxville, TN, the Air National Guard Band of the South is the official musical ambassador for the Tennessee Air National Guard. Members of the Band of the South have performed in almost every state in the union as well as being deployed to Germany, Kandahar, Afghanistan and more.
The concert is presented by Tryon Downtown Development Association. For more information visit downtowntryon.org.
