TRYON–Kymric Mahnke, the retiring president of Tryon Concert Association, is leaving this area after many years of service both to TCA and the larger community. Kym and his wife Susie are moving to Montana and will leave us this summer.
At a ceremony held recently, Kym was honored by TCA for his work as a board member and, most recently, his three years of leading the association as president. Kym has been tireless, creative, innovative, and inspiring as president. Under his leadership, TCA added special events: the Raleigh Ringers concert last season and three organ recitals, additions to the regular four-concert series, coming this season.
As a parting gift, incoming president Beth Child presented Kym with an array of Morris mementos. Glasses, napkins, and other Morrisware will remind Kym of his many years with us and, no doubt, impress his Montana friends.
Thank you, Kym. We will miss you.
