LANDRUM– A former Landrum youth pastor has admitted to filming inside of a women’s restroom inside the church where he was formerly employed.
Last Saturday, Daniel Kellan Mayfield, 35 of Boiling Springs, was arrested for voyeurism after admitting to videoing a Greenwood County woman while she was showering.
During the investigation, detectives discovered videos on Mayfield’s phone that were filmed inside of a women’s restroom at First Baptist Church of Gowensville, located at 5650 Hwy. 14 near Landrum.
Deputies say Mayfield set up a recording device and captured footage inside the women’s restroom on multiple occasions, dating back to July 2022.
The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office has identified six victims, some as young as fourteen years old, and are working to identify other potential victims.
On Thursday afternoon Mayfield was charged with five counts of first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and voyeurism. A magistrate court judge did not grant Mayfield the option to bond out.
Mayfield will appear in front of a circuit court judge within thirty days, who will decide if he will be granted bond.
