Dear Aunty Pam,
I met what seemed to be a nice guy, Larry, on a dating site—he asked me out and I said, sure, so we went to a nice restaurant and I thought we had a great time, especially because he said it was the best steak he ever had and I loved my chicken dish (it had this really good glazed sauce that tasted like oranges) and I noticed he had three cocktails but we were there for a long time and I really enjoyed myself and when he said he’d call me I was dumb enough to believe him because he’s just ghosted me, meaning he never called and now it’s been a week so I guess he’s just a liar, and I’m curious why a man would act that way?
Bethany
Dear Bethany,
Because you never shut up?
Holy run-on sentence, Batman… if you speak as you write, you don’t even take a breath! Which might also have contributed to Larry having three cocktails.
Take a hard look at yourself, Bethany, and relive your date. Who did the most talking? If you can’t remember, ask yourself how much you learned about Larry. If it’s very little, then you’ve got your answer. And if it’s Larry who yammered all night long and then disappeared—you dodged a myopic bullet!
Cheers, dears!
Aunty Pam
